Healthcare Awareness Logistics Operations

Product Description
Med Media’s HALO Network solution eliminates the hassles, errors and inefficiencies associated with traditional radio communications and reports. Harnessing the power of our WebCUR technology, the industry’s most powerful web-based tool, this solution puts the tools in the provider’s hands to make timely decisions on patient destination. Hospital status may be checked from a wireless mobile computer to insure availability of proper healthcare services at the destination hospital. Administrators have the ability to run reports based on their permission level to review the types and duration of diversion events.

The Incoming Patient Notification feature also permits field providers to send patient data wirelessly to the hospital’s website. A brief summary including age, sex, chief complaint, essential comments and ETA is transmitted to minimize delays in care. All of the data collected in the mobile computing solution is also transmitted. A visual and aural cue alerts the receiving facility staff of the summary information and ETA. At their convenience, the ED staff can view this information. This feature requires wireless connectivity.

The Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) mode of Med Media’s HALO Network system shows the number and patient severity levels each hospital is able to handle. This information provides the incident commander with timely information to make decisions in the field without having to communicate with the dispatch center. A visual and aural cue alerts each emergency department that an MCI event has been activated.

An eight-county region in South Central Pennsylvania has been utilizing the initial version of this solution for over eight years. The status of (17) hospitals is hosted at this site. You can visit the website at http://hospitals.ehsf.org to view the system in action.

System Requirements

Connecting to WebCUR is best accomplished via a 56K modem and requires a web browser with 128-bit SSL capability, as determined by the customer. Secure exchange of data may be accomplished in WebCUR via slower dial-up connections. The speed of data transfer is determined by the connection. The customer determines the full extent of security measures. PDA operations require a PalmOS based device or a PocketPC 2002 compatible handheld.
